Salon Profile June 2010 , Wag 'N Wash
This months salon profile is Wag 'N Wash, located in East Rutherford, NJ. Owned by Janie Semprevivo, a graduate of Nash Academy. Janie has been a groomer for 11 years and has owned her salon for milestone 10 years, this year. Her mission statement is to provide a clean, stress free environment for pets to be groomed , whether it is the pet owner or the professional stylists doing it.
Janie's mission statement is accomplished by providing a cage free environment. All pets are hand dried and secured using a tether, in place of cages. She implements the use of the LIPS system to provide comfort to geriatrics and handicapped pets as well as wiggly puppies.She has furthered her education by becoming CPR certified. Her salon is brightly colored with a cheerful cute storefront to attract new clients who pass by.
Wag ' N Wash has de shedding program using the Furminator products to provide a much needed service to her clients and to keep them coming back. Shedding is one of the main reasons pets are groomed. Providing a solution to that problem is a smart idea.
Janie has served her community by being involved in supporting proper care of shelter dogs and has written and appeared in articles on this subject. By doing this she has not only educated others but has become an expert on this subject and has given herself and her salon some media exposure.
